Has any one seen any strong examples of success with social media and crowd funding?  I have a targeted project I'm considering trying it out with, but I'm interested in trying to find out what works before digging in too deep.

Has anyone tried this?

Thank you!

The most popular platform for crowd funding I've seen is Kickstarter. Their pledge model works really well - the donations don't get processed if you don't reach your target fundraising goal by the deadline. www.kickstarter.com . It works best for very targeted projects. People are starting to use it to finance record production, product development, publishing, things like that.
