Position description and requirements
The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation is in search of an experienced Real Estate Project Manager to advance the JPNDC's affordable housing and commercial development agenda. As a member of the Real Estate Team, responsibilities will include: developing and maintaining project budgets, assembling financing, supervising consultants, managing construction, overseeing marketing and sales efforts, and coordinating work with funders and community groups. Immediate assignments may include managing rehabilitation of an 18-unit scattered-site project, and assisting with the refinancing of one or more JPNDC-developed affordable housing projects. Strong familiarity with the low income housing tax credit program is required.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate planning and development of real estate projects.
   
• Hire, manage and coordinate work of project architects, engineers, development consultants, attorneys, accountants, and other professional staff.
   
• Coordinate design work including community planning, permitting, zoning, bidding, and contractor selection.
   
• Manage project budgets and prepare funding applications for predevelopment, construction and permanent financing. Manage project finance closings.
   
• Provide project management during the construction phase
   
• Oversee marketing, leasing, sales and occupancy of completed projects
   
• Provide staffing support to relevant boards and committees
   
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in community development, real estate development, or related field 
  
  
• Excellent project management and organizational skills 
  
  
• Strong working knowledge of real estate development, including finance, design, and construction. 
  
  
• Commitment to JPNDC's mission and community empowerment philosophy 
  
  
• Familiarity with public, private and quasi-public financing programs that support community development activity 
  
  
• Prior experience working on low income housing tax credit projects 
  
  
• Skillful verbal and written communication and negotiation skills 
  
  
• Ability to work both independently and in a team structure 
  
  
• Ability to work in an economically diverse, multicultural community 
  
  
• Bilingual Spanish a plus
